Meet Jane
Hello, I’m Jane, a wedding photographer and family portrait photographer. I’m based in Otley and have been lucky enough to photograph weddings throughout Yorkshire, the UK and abroad since 2009.
I am also a wedding stationer and have been making wedding stationery alongside my wedding photography business for just as long. You can see my luxury wedding stationery here JBCreatives.co.uk
When I'm not working I love being creative, taking a pottery wheel class, designing interiors or creating something new. I love to reading, good food, trips abroad in the sunshine and most of all spending time with friends, family and my gorgeous nephews.

Photography
Telling Stories
I'm a big story teller. I love telling stories through pictures. So photography for me is a way of doing that. Capturing moments in time to treasure for a life time.
I love looking back through my mum and dad’s wedding album from over 40 years ago! It was before my time so it is really lovely to see all the guests, my parents on their special day, my aunties and uncles, our family friends… (and the flares) and those people who sadly are no longer with us. Their wedding album is a family heirloom, never again will all those guests (all your guests) be in the same place together! The photography is so important for this reason… When all the candles have been blown out, the cake has all been eaten and the family has all grown up you will still have an album of beautiful photographs that captured personalities, relationships and the story of your wedding day to treasure forever.
Wedding Photography
My style of photography is romantic, timeless and very natural; I love to tell the story in a fine art reportage style. I love to capture those moments that make your wedding day so unique and personal. I want my photographs do more than just remind you of your special day. I want my photography to evoke the same emotions, the smiles, tears and laughter that made your wedding so special and let the memories last for generations to come.
Family Portraits
When it comes to photographing families I like to do this in the great outdoors in a pretty environment where the little (or big) kids can play and interact naturally. This way I can capture real emotions through my photos, the sort of photos that you will look back on for years to come and remember those little smiles and cheeky grins they used to have!
Magazine Shoots
I have had the pleasure of photographing many styled shoots for bridal magazines such as Unveiled Magazine, Wedding Ideas, Belle Bridal to name a few which is always an honour to be featured in. This coming year I will be doing a couple of styled shoots for photographers so please watch this space if you would be interested in building your portfolio with stunning imagery of your own.
Destination Weddings
I always love combining my love of photography and travel. So having a couple ask me to capture their wedding day abroad is a really exciting thing indeed. I have photographed weddings and styled shoots in France, Italy and Cape Verde and welcome your enquiry.
Travel
I love to travel and have been lucky enough to have seen some truly amazing places around the world, though there are still many more places I would love to see. I’m always planning the next trip somewhere. One day soon I hope to get over to New Zealand to see my little brother, sister-in-law and little nephew. I currently live in Otley and have a little black and white cat called Inca May or ‘Stinky May’ as she affectionately gets called by most people! I love all the seasons of the year for all their different qualities. Spring especially when all the buds come out, the blossom appears on the trees and everything starts turning really colourful again. I love the sea and the sound of the waves and walking barefoot on a beach, eating chocolate, drinking a GnT or cold Prosecco, dancing (especially in my kitchen with friends), laughing but then who doesn’t! I live for my friends and family who make everyday wonderful and really inspire me to do the best I can.
