In May I had the pleasure of photographing my first destination wedding over in Cape Verde on the Island of Sal.
What a beautiful wedding it was. Laura and Ritchie got engaged in Cape Verde on Boa Vista and Laura’s dream was to get married on a beach. So they planned their big day from the UK and took just 11 family and friends over there with them to celebrate their wedding day.
Laura walked down the aisle at Morabeza hotel in Santa Maria onto the beach at 5pm just before the sun was setting, they had a gorgeous ceremony on the beach followed by drinks on the terrace. Everybody then headed back to the hotel we were all staying at to the beach restaurant for their wedding breakfast. Driving round the town of Santa Maria on the way with horns beeping, a Cape Verde tradition for newly weds it would seem.
This whole wedding and the time I spent over there with this couple and their guests was a wonderful experience and I hope their photos will be a lasting memory of what was a beautiful day. I would like to thank this gorgeous couple for having me there to capture their wedding day…. a beautiful destination wedding. Heres just a little look at their day.
