Our wedding photographer was Jane Beadnell. When we were looking for a photographer, I found around 8 I liked the work of and then together with Sam we narrow it down to 3. We set up meetings with those 3 and Jane was the second meeting we had. After we visited Jane, viewed some more of her work and discussed her photography style, we ended up booking with her and cancelling the 3rd meeting. We both just felt she would be able to capture our day in the way we wanted, and boy were we right! Our images from the day are amazing, I’m finding it so hard to narrow them down enough to make selections for our wedding album. Jane is such a calming presence on your wedding day, she’s there but not there, she’s helpful and supportive and she captures the most amazing memories. I love that I got to see the unseen moments and emotions of our day through her images.

We have booked with Jane at least once, sometimes twice a year since our children were born after she captured our wedding so wonderfully. She is a fantastic photographer, who knows how to get the best out of her subjects (including the children!) and puts you immediately at ease. I found Jane by browsing for local family photographers online. I loved the style of her shoots and the way she had captured beautiful moments between families.
Jane was so helpful and accommodating throughout the whole process. We had to change the date at least once due to poor weather being forecast. She also gave me lots of really useful advice when I asked about what kind of clothes to wear on the shoot.
On the day, Jane was fantastic with my little girl! She made the shoot so fun for us all and we felt very relaxed. Jane knew exactly which spots of the Chevin would be perfect for getting beautiful light. She had ideas in mind for types of photos to take but let it happen naturally and didn’t over direct us (super important with a toddler who knows their own mind)!
After the day of the shoot, Jane was fantastic at communicating with us about how long the editing process would be, she also sent us some sneak peek photos.
We were overwhelmed with the photos when they arrived and I’m so pleased we have these photos to cherish for years to come.

The photography of your wedding is the most important thing you need to get right – after all these are the reflections of your memories for years and years to come. We met with a fair few wedding photographers with the hope of finding one that we clicked with, whose photographs fit with our style and it was actually incredibly difficult to find the right fit for us. Then we found Jane.
Instantly we felt at ease and looking through her portfolio it was obvious that Jane has a true talent for her art. From the moment we found Jane and her photography, we knew she was perfect for us. We immediately stopped our search for a photographer and booked her for our wedding photography around 18 months before our wedding day! It was an added bonus when we found out about her gorgeous stationery so we also used her for our beautiful wedding invitations. She really helped to turn our ‘vision’ into reality and we had the most gorgeous, elegant wedding invitations. It was so reassuring to know that she understood what we wanted even when we didn’t really know what we wanted!
Approaching the wedding, it was an absolute joy to meet with her and she was so helpful and patient with our last minute requests and questions! Her calm, kind approach and organisation comforted us and we knew were in very safe hands.
On the day itself, Jane was absolutely brilliant. So many of our guests commented on how respectful and friendly she was. She simply ‘fitted in’ without being remotely intrusive.
The wedding photos turned out beyond expectation and I know the photos of our day will be treasured by us and our families forever. We have spent a few hours today looking again at the photographs. They are incredible. You have an amazing talent and have managed to capture not only the images but also the emotion of our day. Everyone who has seen the pictures so far has absolutely raved about them – ’stunning’, ‘amazing’, ‘a triumph’. We are thrilled with the results. The photographs have allowed us to relive all of the highlights of our day and even shown us little details that we missed. Things like the pictures of the rings and shoes – what seem like tiny details turned into beautiful images. They seem more like mini works of art than wedding photographs.
Neither of us like having our photograph taken but you managed not only to put us at ease but also take by far the best photographs we have ever seen of us. All our guests commented on how lovely you were and how you were very unobtrusive as you went about taking such great shots. One guest described you as the photography ninja – you seemed to manage to be everywhere at once without anyone noticing you moving about. That is quite a skill!
Our wedding was a very small affair done on a small budget and we were a little worried about spending what initially seemed like quite a lot of that budget on photography. It was absolutely the right decision and money very well spent. We now have the best possible memento of our day, which we will enjoy with our family for many years to come. We are quite simply delighted that we chose you to document our wedding day and we will recommend you to everyone we know without hesitation.

We came across Jane by luck at a small wedding fayre near Otley and knew that her calm, friendly personality would be a perfect fit for us. As soon as we met Jane and viewed the beautiful albums she had prepared, we knew that we wanted to ask Jane to photograph our wedding. Jane was so organised and helpful via email which reassured us as we were planning a wedding from abroad and wouldn’t meet again until much nearer the wedding day.

From start to finish Jane was an absolute pleasure to work with. We first came across Jane at JB Creatives when looking for our wedding stationery. Everything I had looked at previously wasn’t quite right or what we wanted, but when we went to visit Jane, she was so helpful and patient – we really felt that we had found the right person. Our stationery was so simple and elegant – lots of people commented on it and We were thrilled with how it turned out. Jane was very accommodating of our ever changing ‘vision’, and always had time to produce new designs and mock-ups until it was just right, even at very short notice. I felt that it was really important to get the stationery just so, as it sets the tone for the rest of the wedding, and we couldn’t have done that without Jane.
When we found out Jane was also a photographer we were over the moon! We looked at her website and blog and were convinced that she was the right choice for us. Jane is that rare mix in a wedding photographer – unobtrusive on the day, but with a quiet authority that meant all the group photos went really smoothly. Jane talked us through the whole thing, from our engagement shoot right through to the day itself and really put us at ease. We are delighted with the results – Jane’s relaxed style really suited us and she was careful not to keep us away from our guests for too long, which we really appreciated.
It would be remiss of me not to mention how cheerful and professional Jane is, and also how willing she was to muck in on the morning of the wedding – putting the finishing touches to the tipis we had for our reception venue and generally helping out. We’d wholeheartedly recommend Jane to anyone – we will always treasure our wedding photos as a fantastic, and very personal, record of the best day of our lives.

Oscar and I were both very apprehensive about being in the limelight on our wedding day but Jane worked hard to put us both at ease and was very calm and unobtrusive on the day and made everything very fun. We were unable to meet with Jane until quite close to the day but she made it very easy to organise things via Skype and email. You have captured so many tiny details, details that even we would have failed to identify, we totally love them.
You are an artist! I know you visited the theatre before our wedding to look around and get an idea of where would be good for photos, which was so obvious when we saw them.
I think you must also be an athlete! At the theatre you must have actually sprinted from the side of the stage, to the balcony, in what appears like seconds? And taking the most amazing pictures throughout. Wonder Woman?

Jane is such an amazing photographer. She captured the essence of the day perfectly and all our guests remarked on how personable and friendly she was.
Jane worked so hard all day to make sure that she didn’t miss any opportunities to capture special moments and little details. When we look through the photographs we really feel like it was a story of our day, rather than posed pictures with no context.
What will always be special to us was the fact that she encouraged us on more than one occasion to take time away from our guests and to spend time together. We first met Jane at her home one frosty winter morning over a cup of tea and discussed what we wanted from our day and as soon as we met her we knew that she was perfect for us.
Jane took time to listen to our thoughts and ideas and always responded very quickly to our email queries. We discussed with Jane in advance what group shots we wanted and timings for the day. On the big day itself Jane arrived at my parents’ house and was loved immediately by everyone! She takes great care to capture the special moments but never once was intrusive.

Jane captured every magical moment of our special day without us having to formally pose, which was great for two people who do not like having their picture taken!

Having known Jane for many years, we knew what a warm, passionate and generous person she was and therefore the ideal photographer to capture our wedding day.
